Emma Crace, a Junior at West Jeff High School is a member of the girl’s varsity basketball team. Standing at five feet, eight inches tall, this two-guard will break your ankles on the court.

Ever since she was three years old, Emma has been playing basketball. She remembers watching her brother play basketball with his friends at a young age. “My brother got me into this sport,” Crace said. Her family is also the main motivator for her play.

For this upcoming season, Crace said “I’ve just been focusing on confidence. Last year I didn’t have any. I was very stressed the whole year. One thing happened last year that has really encouraged me this year. So, I just keep that in the back of my mind, in every practice. I’m always trying to just be there, and pay attention, and work as hard as I can.”

The chemistry between the players is strong. Crace commented, “I think we all know that we can get really far this season.” She is preparing for this season not only mentally, but also physically. In her free time, Emma can be found outside playing basketball at her home hoop.

When getting ready for the basketball season, picking out a pair of shoes is a big deal. Comfort and style play a big role in determining if they will be bought or not. “My whole life I’ve had Lebrons, besides these last two years,” Crace said. She said she has experimented with Kyrie and Giannis’ shoes but “Lebron will still be up there in the top 3 [favorites] though,” Crace stated.

Her two idols that she looks up to would be Lebron James and her brother. She is inspired by Lebron James, a famous NBA player, because “where he came from, and how he is doing right now,” Crace said. Her brother will always be there for her if she wants to ball up sometime.

You can catch Emma Crace wearing jersey number four at her next home game, Saturday November 28, at 7:30pm against the Cardinals from Triad.
