Fall sport standings for West Jefferson High School

As of Tuesday, October 9, the varsity football team is 5-2. In the OHC (Ohio Heritage Conference) North Division the Roughriders are 1-1-- beating Mechanicsburg 23-19 and losing to Fairbanks 38-24. Gabe Jones is a leader on the football team with 776 rushing yards averaging 6.3 yards per carry and 12 rushing touchdowns. Gabe Jones also has 9 receptions for 179 yards and averages 19.9 yards and has receiving touchdowns.

The girls volleyball team is 1-10 as of Tuesday, October 9. In the OHC North Division the Riders are 0-6. The girl's volleyball team has one win against Cedarville High School. The varsity team will either play Fairbanks or Bishop Ready. It will be an away match and the date is not set yet.

The boys and girls soccer team combine a record of 6-14. Boys are 4-8 and the girls are 2-6. Both girls and boys are 1-5 in there conferences as of Tuesday, October 9. The girls match is at Fairbanks on October 16th and will start at 5PM. The boys will host Millersport on October 15th at 5PM.

The boys golf team had a record of 7-7 overall. In the North Division the Roughriders finished 7-6. The boys golf team finished 2nd overall in the North Division for the second year in a row and 2nd overall at the Madison County quad for the second year in a row. Joe Thompson made it out of sectionals all the way to districts. Losing but ended his senior year on a good note leading the team with the most points scored and First Team All League. Ethan Hoenie was what Coach Hunter says is sectional runner up losing by one stroke in a playoff round.

The girls golf team consisting of three young Roughriders Brianna Crigger, Emma Crace, and Isabel Swindell went to sectionals with Isabel Swindell making it to districts and sadly falling short but ended the year strong.
